Hot chocolate, the moon and the stars! On Wednesday, December 16, the fifth graders were lucky to have a visit from the Gloucester Area Astronomy Club (http://www.gaac.us). With the help of our expert guests and several high-powered telescopes, we were able to view and identify stars, star clusters, and even the International Space Station! (NASA = Spot the Station - http://spotthestation.nasa.gov/sightings/view.cfm?country=United_States&region=Massachusetts&city=Gloucester#.VnIAtxaDhUQ) The conditions were perfect as the clouds held off until after our viewing. A BIG thank you to the GAAC for supporting us in our exploration of the night sky!
