Dear Beeman Students and Families,

With just two weeks left of summer, our new school year is almost here!  School begins on Wednesday, September 4th for students in grades 1-5. The school day is 8:30-2:30.  Students should be lined up and ready to enter the building at 8:25. Lines form on the upper pavement of the playground.  Grades 4 and 5 line up at the entrance to the grade 4/5 wing. Grades 2 and 3 line up at the breezeway doors and K/1 students line up at the bottom of the ramp entering the modulars.  All students should line up according to their homeroom teacher. If your student is unsure of their teacher; outdoor staff will have lists the first few days to assist you.

Students have the option to arrive early for breakfast, starting at 7:45 AM. The cost for breakfast is $1.30, and free and reduced pricing is available for those that qualify.  Our bus students may choose to get breakfast first and then head outside for morning recess. There is plenty of time. Outdoor morning recess occurs in all weather except for heavy precipitation or temperatures below 20 degrees. Please dress your students accordingly and do not drop off students for outside play before 8:10 AM as there is no supervision.

We have some exciting changes here at Beeman for the new year.  Our gymnasium has some beautiful new curtains on the upper windows that match our stage curtains and can open and close as needed. Our classrooms have been upgraded with new phones, and our Chromebooks are also getting an upgrade with newer models.

Our staff has some new members too.  Please join me in welcoming:

Adam Shea - custodian Pamela Jacobson - kindergarten Mairead Swords - grade 3

Jessica Garbec - school psychologist Colleen Parisi - literacy tutor Alicia Vargus,  Maryann Aiello, Christine Porper -paraprofessionals Szilvia Vanderburg- school nurse

Finally,  I would like to thank the PTO and Beeman family volunteers for getting our flower gardens and grounds in shape for the new school year.  Our first PTO meeting is set for Wednesday, September 11th at 6:30 in the Beeman lobby; all are welcome to attend!

See you all on the 4th. I am looking forward to a fantastic year!

Sincerely,

Jodi Gennodie
